Magic Play Box
Do you have any of the listed items below that can help us build a 'Magic Play Box' for our younger children?
The magic is not in the box, it comes from within the child. The Magic Play Box comprises of a large crate filled with a variety of up-cycled materials. These seemingly dispensable objects support children to explore their imagination without rules.
Items we are looking for:
- Tubes, tyres
- Lengths of piping of all sizes
- Netting
- Ropes
- Wheels
- A large wooden crate or equivalent type, rough Length: 1.2m, Width: 1.2m, Height: 0.8m to store everything in and ideally lockable or something we can add/ screw a lock onto it.
- steering wheel
- plastic chairs bucket style (fine if it has no legs)
- plastic crates eg bread racks
- broom
- broom handles
- plastic tarpaulins
- downpipe pieces including bendy bits
- log rounds
- cable drums (think cotton reel on mega-scale)
- moon hopper
- hula hoops
- short ladder
- pieces of fake lawn/turf
- short planks
- pool noodles
- buckets
- outdoor cushions
If you have any of these items lying around at home or work, please drop them into the office by the end of the term for us to sort over the holidays.
